Italian giants Juventus are doing all they can to hold onto talented left back Alex Sandro, but manager Massimiliano Allegri did admit that they would consider allowing the Brazilian to depart if they received a ‘crazy offer’.
Step up, Manchester United. The Red Devils find themselves in desperate need of a left back after Jose Mourinho decided that he didn’t like England international Luke Shaw, despite his brilliant performance in the Champions League this week.
The Portuguese manager has plugged in Ashley Young as a left wing back, having experimented with both Matteo Darmian and Daley Blind previously. However, now United are reportedly seeking a proper replacement, and reports suggest that Mourinho will receive £80m in January to purchase a few players.
According to the Express however, it is Alex Sandro that they want, and it appears that Juventus may now value a ‘crazy offer’ at, oh, £80m. Convenient, eh? But the fullback is one of the foremost players in his position, and has developed nicely during his time at Juventus.
At 26-years of age, the player is also entering the prime of his career, meaning that he could potentially become the best left back in world football in Manchester. Still, £80m for a defender seems like a lot. Perhaps Pep Guardiola should get on the case.
