It is little secret that Alex Sandro is a man in demand. The Juventus left back has been linked with a move to a whole host of Europe’s top clubs throughout the past few months, and with the January transfer window quickly approaching it seems increasingly likely that the player will be departing.
Manchester United emerged as the front runners to acquire the Brazilian’s signature last week, but now the Mirror have reported that manager Jose Mourinho is set to offer the Italian giants £60m for their star defender.
Alex Sandro has become a stalwart of what has been a consistently impressive Juventus defence, and is currently in his third season with the club. During that time he has helped the Old Lady to two Serie A titles and a runner-up spot in the Champions League last season.
The Red Devils meanwhile have had some defensive struggles this season, and Mourinho’s apparent hatred for Luke Shaw has meant that players such as Ashley Young and Matteo Darmian have had to fill in at left back in this campaign.
With first choice centre half Eric Bailly out for the long term with an injury, and Phil Jones having also missed games this season, the addition of Alex Sandro would certainly shore up what is already a stingy United defence.
