With long-serving left-back Marcelo pushing for a way out of Santiago Bernabeu, the European champions Real Madrid are said to have already identified a perfect replacement.
Los Blancos have set their sights on Porto star performer Alex Telles who could move to Madrid as early as in January.
The Portuguese media outlet Record claims Real Madrid are willing to fork out €40 million in order to trigger Telles’ release clause and bring him as a direct replacement for Marcelo, who is looking to join his best mate Cristiano Ronaldo at Juventus.
Marcelo has been with Real Madrid since 2007 but Tuttosport claims he is now desperate to join his former teammate in Turin.
Telles is seen as a perfect replacement for Marcelo due to his stacking mindset which sees him make constant contributions upfield from the left flank.
The 25-year-old is a versatile footballer who boasts impressive creativity and is a danger from both open play and set pieces.
